Video booth completion

We finished up the video booth. Here’s a few pics of the completed booth. Taken from my phone so they’re not the greatest quality

Video booth upgrade

For so long our church video booth has been just kind of rigged together. We’ve finally started work on a real bench and fixing all of the wiring.

The existing wiring is a nightmare, and the guy who originally put it in had no idea what he was doing. Today I went underneath and ripped all the extra junk out, routed cables around, and eliminated some splitters that were killing our signal quality. There’s a pic of it below (properly going through a “conduit” rather than just up the wall with electrical tape like it was before). It’s hard to explain how bad it was before, but trust me this is a billion times better.

I also bought a bunch of cable management stuff (made for cat5 but works for what I need).

We’ve still got a lot of work to do, and I will post the pictures once it is finished. We put insulation in the wall, pipes down through the wall for cables, and will be getting some racks for equipment in the near future.

I also just got a tripod and fluid head I ordered from B&H. It cost me $300 for both, but compared to our old $50 tripods these things are absolutely amazing. I don’t know how we lived without them. Here’s a pic of one of the heads.

Important Swine Flu Update

FLU/ H1N1 Precautions

If you are experiencing flu like symptoms please stay home and take Tylenol and/or Ibuprofen, stay hydrated, and let the virus run its natural course. It is most likely NOT swine flu.

If you have been diagnosed by a professional (i.e. a family member, friend, coworker, news media) or someone else who thinks they know about the flu then you will most likely die.

Nearly 5,000 people world wide have died of the swine flu so far. Compare this to the 30,000 a year average that die of the regular flu (influenza) in the US alone each year. The swine flu is clearly the more lethal of the two and is to be feared. The fear alone could result in a failure to continue living.

You may have swine flu if you have one or more of the following symptoms- Death, Dying, and/or Loss of Life. This could most likely result in death. Two-thirds of the deaths caused by swine flu have been fatal.

Please DO NOT come into the ER as you will most likely spread it to the ER and hospital staff and could cause loss of life or worse.

Please manage your flu with Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Rest and be sure and make funeral arrangements as you await your inevitable fate.

Thank You,
Hospital Staff Nationwide
