Here’s a nice new site, it’s called Sproose. It is what they call a social search engine. Unlike other search engines that use their big formulas to decide what gets top spot, even if the page sucks, the users choose what gets the top spot for the search. They do also have the formulas, but once that’s been done, the community decides if a site is worthy of being number one.

This is something that I wish all of the other search engines had. I’ve spent countless wasted hours looking for something, but only finding crap pages that should never have been ranked as high as they were. With Sproose, other users have already found those crap pages, and pushed them to the bottom. Check out the Sproose home page. You can start rating right away, but you’ll need to register to save your ratings. Don’t worry about spam, they won’t sell your email address to anybody. And also find me in a search for Mountain Dew and rank my site up! Booyah!
