Dew Knight

Doing the Dew, Old School Style

Archive for September, 2007

Work has already started on the Dew Knight Action Video Type Thing. I still don’t have a name yet.

This is a 3 minute video for my video production class. It involves the Dew Knight, a ninja, a monk, fighting, and death. We have got some awesome camera work lined up, and a great script for it as well (not nearly done yet). We’ll be shooting some test footage this saturday, as well as finishing up the script and shot list. Hopefully we can do it down at melee in the springs so Weazak can help out, and we can all take part in some craziness that is melee.

If you’re free on Saturday, head down! More info here.

  • Woohoo! Halo 3 is almost here. The marketing is really starting to hit everywhere, and one bank has decided to get themselves a little profit off the Halo hype.

  • I finished my first project for my audio class in college. I got a 10/10, I’m pretty proud of it. The assignment was to mix 4 pieces of music together to tell a story. Only one could have lyrics. See if you can tell what story mine is: Listen to the MP3.

Let me know what you think the story is if you listen.

  • The war on Zombies

The zombie threat is not something to be taken lightly. They are out there. They want your brains. They want your children’s brains! They have objectives.

  • I laughed so hard when I saw this. I think this would be one of the funnest things to do, get your heart pumping. I would be laughing non-stop on the way down.

  • Halo 3 Meta Game

I haven’t really read much about Halo 3. I know when it comes out, I know about online co-op. I that it’s going to be awesome. I can go on for hours about the fun we had at VG club in Halo 1, buggie wars, The Silent Cartographer, not using any ammo (booyah!), but I won’t for now. Halo 2 was great, kind of disappointing in some ways (vehicle damage, come on… crank that UP!). I’ve read that Halo 3 is going to be a cross between 1 and 2. But I also just read something today that makes me happy:

Halo 3 features a “campaign meta-game” in which a player is awarded a numerical score based on their performance while completing a level in the campaign. Points mostly come from defeating enemies, with extra points being awarded for stylish moves such as performing “headshots”, or progressing through a level quickly. Finding and activating Skulls, a continuation of Halo 2’s gameplay-altering easter eggs, allows a player to obtain even higher scores in the meta-game. As it records individual performance for each player, the meta-game also introduces a competitive aspect to co-op play. If a player themselves die, or kill a co-op teammate however, they will lose points.[12] Campaign play also unlocks even more armor permutations for use in multiplayer.[13]

Gamerscore is awarded for successfully getting over a certain score in each level,[14] and medals are awarded for specific accomplishments.

Booyah! They had better give you a hell of a lot of points for melee kills. And when I complete the game on legendary without using any ammo, my score had better be insane! I want a live achievement for that!

Anybody who thinks you are good at Halo, I challenge you. Get a buddy and we’ll play. Weazak and I are the greatest Halo players there are, and that’s when we kill you without using any ammo. Don’t get us started on ammo, you’ll be crying in a corner for your mother.
