I use VLC all the time, it’s great for videos that just wont work in any other player. Though it’s usually my last resort because I’m not a huge fan of the interface. Not that it’s bad, but I’m more used to media player classic or bsplayer.

Nice post Russ.

VLC is really useful. I use to to play MP3’s that I’ve just downloaded, and don’t want to import into iTunes yet - because my iTunes is set to organize my files, into their folder-system.

@Andrew: I like the interface because it’s so simple. What do I need a flashy looking interface for if all I’m doing is watching a full screen movie.

Of course for managing a big library of music I use iTunes.

Well no doubt VLC player is a good one. I have been using it for last 2.5 years on my Mac and when all other players fail me, I am sure VLC will play it. Mplayer used to be good for windows but I don’t like Mplayer OSX and Mplayer OSX2. The first time I used VLC was as a ‘lan video streamer’ during my college time, after that we exploited the robustness by playing scratched CDs and DVDs.. boy we were impressed :) Simply put.. VLC Rocks !!

yes VLC is an awesome player and that is what I use most of the time. And I don’t think it’s over bloated full of (windows media) junk. hehe
Also agree with the easy to use interface…!!!
