Doing the Dew, Old School Style

I wrote about this a while ago but never uploaded the completed videos. We made a couple of videos for our youth group. We used a green screen to film them, and Dan helped us with making a fake lake and beach in Blender. The beach video didn’t turn out too great because of quite a few things, but the one on the lake where Jesus and Peter walk on water turned out alright.
.
You’ll have to understand that a lot of the editing and keying was done in a time period of 20 hours. I got home from a trip to Dallas and didn’t sleep until I got these finished, 20 hours later. It was an extreme night, and that’s why there are flaws and things missing that we wanted to add in.
What do you think about the video? All the people used in the video were members of the youth group. This is the first green screen thing I had done, and I really wish I had worked on it more than I did.

this is pretty neat! i’m so curious how this green screen works.
Basically you shoot your video with a big green (or blue) screen behind your characters. Then you use a program to remove all the green color and replace it with whatever other video you want (like the cgi lake in this video).
A lot of films these days use green screens a lot. Some of them use only green screens to make the complete movie.
It’s become common to call it green screening, but really any color can be used.
WOW, this video is super! I think you did an excellent job and also liked the acting as well.
Love your video. You did a very good job. Well done.
Thanks all for the comments. I really wish I could have made it better, but everybody keeps telling me it’s still good as it is.
The actors were all members of the youth group. Some of them have been in a few of our other videos (TOP 7 Action News!)
