  • Whether you just have important business files or are a paranoid psycho, TrueCrypt is free software that you can use to keep your files safe. TrueCrypt is free, open source disk encryption software for Windows.

You can use it to encrypt parts of your hard drive, flash drives, whole hard drives, and even your entire operating system. Encryption is done automatically, on the fly, and transparently so that you don’t have to worry about important data being stolen. TrueCrypt has a few different algorithms to choose from, and you can even combine them for ultimate encryption protection.

Use TrueCrypt if you just want to ensure your customer data is secure while you aren’t at the office, to keep the government from looking at those super secret world domination plans, or to keep the aliens from finding out where you live. It’s free and easy to use, and also available for Mac OSX and Linux.

  • Here’s a new series for you: How to make your blog not suck.

First up in the series is plugins. You can easily make your blog not suck and your readers not hate you by getting rid of all of those hundreds of plugins, badges, images, etc all in your sidebar and all around your blog. You should have a billion little things making the page really long and slowing down the load time. When you have a lot of junk in there it slows down browsers and just makes people get angry at you. Plus, it makes your blog suck.

Think about what value these plugins and images offer, and weight that against how much people hate you for them.

  • If these guys can get written about for driving 10 miles to a burger king (which has started to become one of my least favorite burgers) then I’m sure our 700 mile trip to In-n-Out in Las Vegas can get some major media coverage. With just a little bit of effort I bet we could get a tv interview (especially if we showed up with the dew armor, ninjas, etc). Then In-n-Out couldn’t ignore us anymore!

In other news I think I caught what everybody else had. Sick today. Taking as much meds as I can to make it go away.
