Doing the Dew, Old School Style
Russ
If these guys can get written about for driving 10 miles to a burger king (which has started to become one of my least favorite burgers) then I’m sure our 700 mile trip to In-n-Out in Las Vegas can get some major media coverage. With just a little bit of effort I bet we could get a tv interview (especially if we showed up with the dew armor, ninjas, etc). Then In-n-Out couldn’t ignore us anymore!
In other news I think I caught what everybody else had. Sick today. Taking as much meds as I can to make it go away.

Just in time for 4th of July, here’s a new video from Jeff Childress - Blood Bought Liberty. It is a tribute to our troops. Whether or not you support the war, you should be supporting our troops. Some may even not agree with what they have to do, but they are selflessly putting their lives on the line for your safety and freedom.. Please watch the video below, and also rate it and favorite it on Youtube.
Please Digg and Stumble it as well. Help spread this video around the world so as we celebrate our nation’s independence this week, let’s not forget those that fight for it every day.
Check the website of Jeff Childress, or get the song.

The video we are making for our youth group is coming along. The deadline is coming up here very quickly and so far not much has been done. Mostly because I have been working way too much.
I’ve got the video rough cut done. Today I have and am going through and cleaning up the cuts and lining out second by second what will be where. I’m also getting the list of scenes we need animated second by second so we don’t have to make extra stuff we won’t use.
The audio has been killing me. For some reason in the timeline Premiere Pro has a lag in the audio with this HD footage. It’s not just this computer either as I tried it on the other computer we’ve got. I think it’s just the fact that these aren’t the latest and greatest computers. Both computers are pretty much exactly the same, earlier model dual core processors, 1GB RAM, 256MB video card. I want to order some more RAM from Newegg but it’s going to take a few days to get here and I’m not sure it will help. I’m just gonna have to kind of live with it.
I’ve been playing a little with the animation we’re doing in Lightwave but haven’t really got anything to show yet. Once I get these scenes all exactly cut and I have the exact things I need done in Lightwave I’ll start with those. Cory and Nate: I’ll probably need your help once it comes to this.
In fact, if anybody who does 3D animation happens to see this and wants to help out a Youth Group make this awesome video, let me know. I’ll buy you a Dew, a Beer or a camel, whichever you’d like. Let me know.

So I had that scope done today. I don’t remember anything from when it was happening. All I have heard so far is that I am supposed to give up pizza. Yeah right, like that’s going to happen. I already had to give up mexican and other spicy foods. You can’t take my pizza way!
At least I’m going to use this time I have taken off work to do something productive. I’ve got the whole rest of the week off and I’m planning to get a whole lot done. I’m working on a website for a friend, getting all the design changed, information up there, and making it really easy for him to make changes to the website. It’s all simple except for the backend script that I’ll be putting together (which is also pretty simple)
I’m also going to be working heavily on that youth group video we’re making. I am working on learning Lightwave and putting together an ocean and a beach to use in our green screen footage. This one’s got a deadline so I’m trying to do the most work on it.
I’m working on the website for computer repair company I’m starting. This company will be a lot more than computer repair, and the website will play a really, really huge role in making profits and everything for the company. This doesn’t have a deadline but it’s higher on my list of things to get done. We’ve got an awesome name for the company and I’ve snagged the domain name. I still need to register the trade name and decide how I’m setting up the business.
I’m also planning on doing a little work on the Broken Fork website. I’ve just kind of got it up there right now to sit there. I’d like to work on a custom design and really plan out the wording. This is kind of a lower priority than everything else, but definitely needs to get done.
I’m still a little groggy and weird from the stuff they gave me. I’m also really hungry. I’m supposed to take it easy for the next couple of days. I still haven’t eaten anything significant since Tuesday.

So I’ve still been looking around for new jobs. I got out of computer repair a year ago. I have been considering getting a job at a computer repair shop since I really am good at it. Then I got to thinking why not just have my own business? Why should I be making money for other people when I possess the skills to have my own computer repair business?
So I thought a lot last night about exactly how I would do it. Of course it would be run out of the house at first, but I am thinking I can get enough business to get a small shop together in a few months. The last shop I worked at was disorganized and nothing ever really got done. I’ve got a ton of ideas as far as managing jobs, schedules, the business, etc.
Another big thing I was thinking about is the website. I want to offer all of the products and services online. I’ve got so many big ideas for that. The biggest thing I am looking for right now is a name. I don’t want to use it under Broken Fork Productions because that’s for videos, and it’s not quite a computer name. I am trying to think of a good name for a computer repair shop that I can also get an available domain name for.
I figure this would be something to at least bring some cash in for other ideas. And since I am so good at working with, repairing, and building computers that I should really do something with those skills.
