Stay away from Chegg

While Chegg may seem awesome, they have horrible customer service, extremely ridiculous shipping times, and their books are in bad condition.

Good luck trying to get in touch with them by phone or email if you ever have any problems. And good luck in getting your books within 2 weeks of your order being placed.

Stay away from Chegg until they improve their customer service and shipping.

  • After the last crazy month I’m just now starting to get back into the groove of everything. Working on school stuff (homework, papers, etc), even though I still don’t have my books yet (yeah, thanks Chegg. I’ll be writing a review about you later). I’ve finally found what I’m going to stick with and get my degree for. I’ve been through a few different programs now at PPCC but I’m going to go ahead with the Electronics Technology AAS. I’ll probably get it in December of ‘09. It’s working with circuits and other things in that area. It’s something I’ve always had fun with but never really pursued.

Video stuff is kind of coming along. We’ve talked about doing a short proof of concept for one of the movies we’re planning. I think that’s going to end up really good, and we’re thinking about getting it done in the winter months here. Other stuff was all put on hold for me during that busy month, but I’m working on getting everything back up and running.

Church stuff is coming along. We’re gearing up to start pre-production work on our Christmas “play” for this year. It’s going to be a major one, and be full of a lot of awesome. I’m working on ad concepts, lighting ideas, special effects ideas, etc. I’m also always working on general marketing and ad ideas for the church. One thing I’m going to try and organize is a fundraiser so the video department can get the new equipment that we need. I don’t have any ideas for this yet, but it’s definitely on my mind.

Getting a job is sort of coming along. I thought I was going to have time to do that last week, but there was still so much to be done. This week I’m really hitting that hard, but first I need to update my resume with all my new info and such. I think I’ll be looking for something in computers, just because I know that and have experience already. It’ll have to be part time with all of my other work.

So that’s my life right now. I’ll have a lot more time for blogging now that August is over, so expect to see a lot more here soon.

I’ve changed my class schedule again (4 days before the start of the semester). I really didn’t like the fact that I was at school in the middle of the day, 4 days out of the week. It would really kill job availability, and the classes were kind of meh. I’ve changed it to something I think I’ll really enjoy, that will also help me out a lot (being technical minded).

My classes are now only tuesday and thursday. I start off at 11:30 AM with Interpersonal Communication, then 1 PM is Math - Survey of Algebra (for Physics next semester). Then I’ve got a break until 5 PM til 8 PM for an electronics class (intro do ac / dc - basically circuits and junk). That class is actually two classes, 3 credits each, split into bimesters. I’ve also got an online class (English - Technical Writing).

So those are my classes this semester. 16 credit hours without actually being overwhelming so I can still work a temporary job. With the credits I have and what I’m planning on I will have an associates degree by December 09.

  • I need college classes

I’m trying to sign up for some more college classes for the fall semester. I need to be at least full time and I’m having trouble finding the classes I want. See, the problem is that I’m not going to college for the degree, but the information. I only want to take classes that interest me and that will benefit me.

I took some television classes last fall, and a few business classes in spring that I had to withdraw from due to medical stuff that happened. I like TV and video stuff, as well as business stuff. I’m just having a hard time finding classes that I actually want to take.

I have 7 credits now with an Accounting and English class, which means I need 5 more credits to be full time. Can anybody suggest some other classes to take? I’ll be at PPCC this semester.

    And school is over!

Last day of school is done. Did my last test and I am so glad it is finished. Now I’ll be spending the rest of the week looking for a new job. I’ve been working for a home shopping channel but it isn’t that great. The pay is just barely worth it, but they have so many network problems, bad hours, and the company that I work for that is contracted to do the calls is managed really bad. It took about 4 months from the time I applied til they accepted me, then another month while they were working out paperwork before I actually started training.

I’m looking for a job at hopefully an Italian restaurant or pizzeria. I’d like to eventually work up to becoming a chef, but I know I’ll have to start out lower on the ladder til I know how everything is run. Luckily I am a fast learner.

Also just watched the latest Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay. Love how that guy runs everything. Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and both the British and American version of Kitchen Nightmares are awesome shows.

Other than school, this hasn’t been a very productive day. I did shine all of my shoes though. I hadn’t done it in a while and it really showed. Now all 3 pairs are nice and shiny brown or black!
