Doing the Dew, Old School Style
I’m trying to sign up for some more college classes for the fall semester. I need to be at least full time and I’m having trouble finding the classes I want. See, the problem is that I’m not going to college for the degree, but the information. I only want to take classes that interest me and that will benefit me.
I took some television classes last fall, and a few business classes in spring that I had to withdraw from due to medical stuff that happened. I like TV and video stuff, as well as business stuff. I’m just having a hard time finding classes that I actually want to take.
I have 7 credits now with an Accounting and English class, which means I need 5 more credits to be full time. Can anybody suggest some other classes to take? I’ll be at PPCC this semester.
While I don’t have TV service right now I do have some shows that I am watching.
Battlestar Galactica: This season has had some great episodes so far. I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
The Office: You’ve gotta love the Office
Scrubs: When I first saw this show I had to go back and watch every episode ever made. I loves the Scrubs
Older shows:
Roswell: I watched the first season on Hulu and am getting the other two seasons in preparation for the whole procedure on Thursday. I’ll have plenty of time to watchin season 2
The West Wing: I never watched this while it was on but I think Aaron Sorkin is a great writer. I do see a lot of recycled material from Sports Night and material that was used in Studio 60. Still a great writer and cool show
And now I hope to go to sleep. I need to wake up in 6 hours. At least that’s more sleep than I’ve been getting recently.
Sweet! The creators of South Park have learned that the internet is the perfect place to make money from your show! You can now watch pretty much every episode of South Park on the South Park Studios website! This is awesome and a major breakthrough in getting more shows online!
I’ve seen some people complaining of the ads and that really gets to me. First, how do you expect them to make money if they don’t show any ads? Second, there are three 30 second ads in the whole show. That’s like a bajillion less ads than if you were to watch it on TV. And the ads they show aren’t really that bad. Get over it and watch some freaking South Park!
Even though I canceled my satellite service I still get some time to watch a few shows. I am really glad the major networks put their shows online, but I wish SciFi and Bravo would do the same.
Top Chef just started back up and that’s one of my favorite shows. I don’t know what exactly makes me like it, probably just the whole general competitive cooking deal. Hells Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares are also two of my favorite shows.
Battlestar Galactica starts back up on April 4th and it couldn’t get here any sooner. If I could only watch one TV show it would be Battlestar Galactica. Check out the What the frak is going on video on the BSG website. I also love Stargate Atlantis, but haven’t watched it too much.
The Office comes back April 10th! Booyah! Who doesn’t love the Office? You don’t, well screw you, the Office rules!
And I’m really glad the writers will start getting paid when I watch one of their episodes from the network’s website.
According to somebody I work with, I was on local TV last night (Sunday, March 9th). Did you see me? They don’t know which channel it was. It may have been channel 13 or 21, but they said they saw my video where the Mountain Dew Knight fights a ninja. They also mentioned there was a robot, which makes me think the news got it off YouTube.
If you live in Colorado Springs and happened to see me on TV, please let me know! I’d like to know which station showed the video and see how they liked it! I would also like to let them know that the film will also be shown in the PPCC Film Festival in April! Please leave me a comment or email me at dewknight [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks!
This is probably the video you would have seen:
I finished watching the Black Donnellys this morning after a recommendation from a friend. Once again I have come across a great show that was canceled prematurely by the network. Just like Sportsnight, Firefly, Studio 60, Futurama, Family Guy, etc. I wish I could talk to some of these people who cancel all the great shows and give them a little piece of my mind.
The Black Donnellys was about a group of Irish brothers in Hells Kitchen as they make their ways into organized crime. They start from nothing and slowly build their name in the community, taking on the Irish and Italian bosses in the area. I love they way it is narrated by Joey “Ice Cream.” Adds that little bit of comedy to a great drama.
Of course with it being such a great show, there were probably a number of stupid people that get it. These types of people demand more crap like American Idol, Fear Factor, The Bachelor, Survivor, and Big Brother. They can’t understand shows that are well written and have good actors, give them the stupid shows and they’ll love em! NBC canceled The Black Donnellys after 13 episodes. It actually went off the air after episode 7. The rest were provided online.
I found something awesome though. In addition to purchasing the DVD, you can also watch the episodes on Veoh (provided by NBC). For some reason they are missing episode 12, but that’s easy enough to find. Just get Veoh TV and go to the channels tab. Click NBC and scroll down to The Black Donnellys.
